PMG Now Grading World Currency
Posted on 9/1/2005
Completion of Service Expansion Includes World Currency and US Obsolete Currency
As of September 1, 2005, PMG is grading World Notes and US Obsolete Currency. All notes graded by PMG are referenced by catalogue number on the certification label. For World submissions, Pick numbers will be used except for Bank of Canada and Dominion of Canada, where Charleton numbers will be used. For US Obsolete Currency, Haxby numbers will be used when appropriate as well as Criswell and State references.
Glen Jorde, PMG Manager comments that “We are the first paper money grading service offering a comprehensive guarantee to grade World notes, and have nearly half of a million varieties in our database. As with US notes, we will be using the 70-point Sheldon system for our grades. This is an important milestone, not only for PMG but for paper money collectors as well.” Jorde further comments that collectors should “expect accuracy and consistency in all of our services. We feel PMG will add value to all rare and high grade currency.”
World and Canadian notes should be submitted for grading on a World Submission form. US Large and Small Size, Obsolete, Fractional, Confederate, and Colonial Currencies should be submitted on a US Submission form.
