NGC 2017 Bi-Metallic Rooster Submissions

Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC) will offer several special designations and labels for the highly anticipated China 2017 Rooster Bi-Metallic ¥10 coins. The coins are scheduled to be released to the public on Wednesday, January 4, 2017. Comprised of two different copper alloys, the 2017 Rooster Bi-Metallic ¥10 coins are the third issue in a series that started with the 2015 Goat ¥10.
NGC has created a rooster-themed label for these coins and other Year of the Rooster issues. NGC will also offer its popular “Early Releases” and “First Releases” labels and designations for coins received within 30 days of the coin’s release (January 4). In addition, the special NGC “First Day of Issue” designation and label will be available for coins received by NGC within one business day of the first day of issue. To qualify, special submission instructions must be followed (see First Day of Issue Submission Instructions below).
Submission Instructions
- To qualify for Early Releases or First Releases coins must be received at an NGC office before the Early Releases/First Releases cutoff date.
- For submissions to NGC’s Shanghai office, write either “Early Releases” or “First Releases” in bold letters on the NGC China Submission Form.
- For submissions to NGC’s Hong Kong office in China, select the Modern tier or higher and check either Early Releases or First Releases. Note: the Early Releases or First Releases fee is waived for Modern Bulk submissions.
- For submissions to NGC’s US office, select the Modern tier or higher and check either Early Release or First Releases.
- Please specify desired label in bold letters on the Submission Form in the Special Label section.
First Day of Issue Submission Instructions
- To qualify for “First Day of Issue” coins must be received at NGC’s Shanghai office by 10:00am on Thursday, January 5, 2017. NGC will also accept coins in packages that are postmarked January 4, 2017, for “First Day of Issue” provided the packages are received by Monday, January 9, 2017.
- Write “First Day of Issue” in bold letters on the NGC Submission Form.
- There is a minimum submission requirement of 100 coins for this designation.
- An additional fee of 65 RMB (Shanghai Office) or $10 (Hong Kong Office) per coin will apply for the special designation verification and attribution.
- The default label will be the NGC First Day of Issue label.
- If you would like to use the First Day of Issue designation with the NGC Rooster label, write “First Day of Issue/NGC Rooster” in bold letters on the NGC Submission Form.
Additional Instructions
- Bulk submissions of bimetallic Rooster coins received by NGC in sealed boxes may be attributed by mint location. The mint location will be designated on the NGC label with the mint location in parentheses after the date and the phrase "STRUCK AT (Mint Location)". These coins can be encapsulated with any eligible NGC certification label, including:
