Modern Chinese Varieties: 1995 Zhang Qian Gold 50 Yuan Proof

This month’s featured coin is the 1995 Zhang Qian Gold 50 Yuan Proof. There are two varieties of this coin that show a difference in size of the “50” in the denomination on the reverse of the coin.
The first variety exhibits a small version of the 50 on the reverse. NGC will now denote this as SMALL 50 (Photos 1 & 2).

The second variety exhibits a larger version of the 50 on the reverse. NGC will now denote this as LARGE 50 (Photos 3 & 4).
