NGC Offers Bilingual Labels for Chinese New Year
Posted on 12/17/2013
Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC) will offer its first Chinese/English bilingual certification labels for this year’s Chinese New Year holiday. The five new NGC labels feature popular well wishes in Chinese set against an attractive red background.
The NGC labels are reminiscent of the red envelopes that are traditionally given as gifts for Chinese New Year or other special occasions. These red envelopes contain money, and gifts of silver coins, especially newly issued Chinese Pandas, are also common.
The five well wishes are printed in Chinese on the NGC label and translate to:
- Immediate Success
- Abundant Fortune
- Good Health and Well-Being
- Flourishing Business
- Joyful and Prosperous
"Immediate Success" |
To submit coins for encapsulation with these labels please follow the guidelines below:
- All common date Chinese Modern Coins, 1979-Date.
- Select the Modern tier or higher and select Special Label/Releases.
- Write the label name (i.e. "Immediate Success") in bold letters in English on the submission form.
- You must use separate forms if submitting for different NGC Chinese New Year labels.
Offer available while quantities of the Chinese New Year labels last.
NGC will accept submissions at trade shows, but they are not eligible for on-site grading.
Dealers should contact Scott Heller at NGC for bulk submissions.
