Copper nickel coins should appear an even gray tone. Dull brownish residues on the high points of the design are not a desirable look. This large copper nickel Piastre of the States of French Indochina was submitted to NCS in the hopes of having those dull residues removed once again revealing a bright and evenly toned coin.
Conservators at NCS were careful to remove the ugly residues from the highpoints of this coin while not damaging the surfaces beneath in the process. After professional conservation, this coin was able to grade very well with NGC.
