Residues can obscure the true potential of a coin. Removal of these masking residues will make for a coin that is not only more attractive, but more stable for long-term storage and enjoyment.
This 1930 Standing Liberty Quarter was submitted recently to have the light residues removed in hopes that a more attractive coin would be revealed. Through some careful conservation work, the NCS conservators were able to safely remove the residues obscuring the surface and the coin was able to grade numerically with NGC.
