NGC is offering special labels and designations to celebrate the highly anticipated coins and medal. Special submission instructions must be followed. See the “Submission Instructions” section of this article.

The US Mint has announced the first non-round coinage in recent US history, as the Freedom Ringing – 1776-2026 Liberty Bell One-Half Ounce and One Ounce Gold Coins and One-Half Ounce Silver Medal are available for sale on July 16, 2026. The 1776-2026 Liberty Bell One-Half Ounce Gold Coin, 1776-2026 Liberty Bell One Ounce Gold Coin, and 1776-2026 Liberty Bell One-Half Ounce Silver Medal each have mintage limits of 2,026 and a household limit of one.

To accompany certified coins and medals, NGC® is offering a variety of special labels and designations that enhance the coins and medal and mark the occasion of their release, including the popular NGC Early Releases and First Releases labels, as well as the America250™ US Flag label.

Uniquely minted for 2026 in limited quantities because of the high level of detail and precision required to produce each coin and medal, the Freedom Ringing – 1776-2026 Liberty Bell Gold Coins and Silver Medal were created in celebration of the Semiquincentennial of our nation’s founding. The Liberty Bell-shaped coins and medal are the first non-round coinage in recent US history, with the Liberty Bell long standing as a symbol of freedom and equality in many forms to many Americans.

Now, the US Mint is proudly honoring 250 years of American independence with the Freedom Ringing – Liberty Bell in a striking limited-edition design. After years of planning and innovation, the coins and medal were handloaded and pressed in the Research and Development Lab of the Philadelphia Mint. The finished product culminates in these unique coins and medal, which herald the Liberty Bell’s timeless message of hope and perseverance as inscribed upon the bell, to "Proclaim Liberty Throughout All the Land Unto All the Inhabitants Thereof."

The Semiquincentennial is an opportunity for Americans to reflect on the nation's past, present, and future, while celebrating the contributions of all Americans throughout history during the nation's 250th anniversary. NGC is proud to have partnered with America250™ to celebrate this important event in American and numismatic history.

The US Mint is releasing several special one-year-only changes to popular American coinage, which include special numismatic coins and medals in 2026 that feature unique designs and enhancements to mark the occasion. Many of these coins also feature the dual dates of “1776” and “2026,” reminiscent of the one-time changes made for the United States Bicentennial 50 years ago, including the Liberty Bell Coins and Medal. The NGC America250™ certification label will be available for each of these upcoming coveted releases.

Additionally, all submitters of 1776-2026 Liberty Bell Coins and Medal can select the popular NGC Early Releases or First Releases designations if they are received by NGC within the first 30 days of release.
