Additionally, Doug Chin-Lee, Business Development Manager of NGC Shanghai, will be present at Stack’s Bowers for the auction of Auspicious NGC Submission Number 8888888. This number is expected to draw extra attention because it is a Solid-8 number. The number eight is considered particularly lucky in China and other parts of Asia because the Chinese word for eight sounds similar to the Chinese word for prosper.
The successful bidder for each certificate will have the opportunity to submit up to 999 coins to NGC to use with the certificate’s corresponding Auspicious NGC Submission Number. For coins that are authenticated, this number becomes the first seven digits of the NGC certification number, appearing on the NGC label just below the grade. NGC service fees are not included in the lots and must be paid to NGC at the time of submission.
Please note: All coins submitted for the Auspicious NGC Submission Number must qualify for the same grading tier. All coins must be submitted on one submission form per NGC’s submission requirements and guidelines. Certificates must be used by June 24, 2028, or all rights to that NGC submission number will revert to NGC. Auspicious NGC Submission Number certificates are non-transferable. Only the successful bidder at auction may redeem their Auspicious NGC Submission Number certificate.
