Posted on 6/8/2026

For these highly anticipated coins, NGC is offering special designations and labels. Special submission instructions must be followed. Coins must be submitted in the sealed original Mint shipping box to receive a set designation. See the "Submission instructions" section of this article, including instructions to have the original Mint packaging returned.

On June 4, 2026, the US Mint released commemorative coins celebrating the soccer world's biggest event. In addition to a FIFA World Cup 2026™ Three-Coin Proof Set, the coins are also available individually in both Uncirculated and Proof formats:

To capture the excitement of these coins, NGC® is offering special labels and designations upon request, including a special soccer label for all the coins as well as a designation of Official US Mint Set for the set. Because the release of these coins coincides with the 250th anniversary of the United States, the officially licensed America250™ label is also available. NGC's popular First Releases and Early releases designations and labels are other attractive options. Read on for details and submission instructions.

The three-coin set has a product limit of only 10,000. The Gold Five Dollars has a product limit across all options of 100,000, the Silver Dollar has a product limit of 500,000, and the Half Dollar has a product limit of 750,000. The FIFA World Cup 2026 Three-Coin Proof Set must be submitted in the sealed original Mint shipping box to receive the set designation.

About the Program

The US Mint created the 2026 FIFA World Cup 2026 coins to celebrate soccer's premier event, which is only held once every four years. The World Cup is being hosted this year by the United States, Canada, and Mexico, with more than 100 matches scheduled between the kick-off on June 11 and the championship game on July 19. The only other time the United States hosted the World Cup was in 1994.

The obverse of the gold coin shows a globe in the style of a soccer ball, with North America the center of focus. The obverses of the Dollar and Half Dollar coins each show a soccer player in action, in front of a FIFA logo.

The reverse for all three coins shows three hands holding up the FIFA World Cup Trophy, the greatest prize in the sport. The FIFA World Cup tournament is the top sporting event in the world, drawing several billion viewers, more than half the global population.

US Mint surcharges from the sale of each coin are paid to FWC2026 US Inc. to help grow the sport of soccer in the United States. The coins were introduced on a pre-order basis and are expected to ship later in the year.
