Mint Mint Auction Features NGC-certified World Coins

Rarities from Germany and Vietnam are among dozens of world coins certified by NGC® that are featured in a Japanese auction in early May. Bidding is already underway for the 26th Mint Mint Auction, which concludes on May 10, 2026.
Top NGC-certified lots include a Germany (1742-45) Regensburg Taler graded NGC MS 63 (lot 517) and a Vietnam (1848-83) Annam 5 Tien graded NGC MS 64 (lot 544). Each of these coins has a current bid of ¥2,600,000 (about $17,000). The Taler is a "Top Pop," the higher of the two in the NGC Census, while the Tien is one of 19 examples in the NGC Census, exceeded in grade by only one example.
Other NGC-certified highlights include:
- a Great Britain 1985 5 Sovereign graded NGC PF 67 Ultra Cameo, a 2 Sovereign graded NGC PF 67 Ultra Cameo, a Sovereign graded NGC PF 67 Ultra Cameo, and a Half Sovereign graded NGC PF 70 Ultra Cameo (lot 529), with a current bid of ¥1,500,000 (about $10,000)
- an Austria (c.1790) Vienna Gold Salvator Mundi Medal graded NGC AU Details (lot 503), with a current bid of ¥1,500,000 (about $10,000)
- an Austria 1912 100 Corona graded NGC PL 60 Cameo (lot 504), with a current bid of ¥1,000,000 (about $6,400)
- a Japan M19(1886) 5 Yen graded NGC MS 62 (lot 127), with a current bid of ¥900,000 (about $5,700)
