Massive Gold Rarity Roars Among NGC-certified Highlights in April Auction

Hundreds of ancient and world rarities certified by NGC®, including one of the largest gold coins in the world, are being offered in an upcoming auction presented by a respected Japanese auction house. Online bidding is already underway for Auction World's Auction 44, which concludes April 18-19, 2026.
The top lot in the auction is an Alderney 2019 1 Kilogram Gold 100 Pounds - Una and the Lion graded NGC PF 69 Ultra Cameo (lot 3072), which has a starting price of ¥20,000,000 (about $126,000). This coin blends six figures' worth of gold bullion with the reverse of the 1839 Una and the Lion 5 Sovereign, which is widely regarded as Great Britain's most beautiful coin. This Alderney rarity is one of only three in the NGC Population Report.
Other NGC-certified highlights in the auction include:
- a Germany (1631) Nurnberg 6 Ducat graded NGC MS 65 (lot 3265) with a starting price of ¥15,000,000 (about $95,000)
- a Dominican Republic Silver Pattern 10 Reales graded NGC MS 62 (lot 2024) with a starting price of ¥10,000,000 (about $63,000)
- an Italy 1810 Naples and Sicily Silver Pattern 12 Carlini graded NGC MS 60 (lot 3615) with a starting price of ¥10,000,000 (about $63,000)
- a New Zealand 1935 Silver Pattern Treaty of Waitangi Crown graded NGC MS 64 and pedigreed to the Paramount Collection (lot 1489) with a starting price of ¥7,500,000 (about $47,000)
- a Great Britain 1847 Gothic Type Crown - Undecimo Edge graded NGC PF 65★ Cameo (lot 3466) with a starting price of ¥5,000,000 (about $32,000)
- a England 1684 5 Guineas graded NGC MS 61 (lot 3386) with a starting price of ¥6,000,000 (about $38,000)
