NGC Licenses Official America250™ Logo of the US Semiquincentennial Commission

Numismatic Guaranty Company® (NGC®) is thrilled to announce that it has licensed the official America250™ logo of the United States Semiquincentennial Commission, which was established by Congress to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. The official America250™ logo will be made available to coin collectors and dealers on NGC certification labels issued to mark this important milestone in American and numismatic history.

The NGC America250™ label prominently features the official America250™ logo on the right side of the label with a waving American flag in the background. Available exclusively from NGC, it is the perfect way to celebrate all of the special coins being released for this historic anniversary.

A milestone for America and American numismatics

Plans for official Semiquincentennial events and initiatives began a decade ago, in 2016, with the establishment of the US Semiquincentennial Commission. The non-partisan body was tasked with organizing special events and initiatives to mark this significant milestone in American history. The Semiquincentennial is an opportunity for Americans to reflect on the nation's past, present and future, while celebrating the contributions of all Americans throughout history. NGC is proud to have partnered with America250™ to celebrate this important event in American and numismatic history.

The US Mint recently released the designs for special one-year-only changes to popular American coinage, including the circulating dime and quarter as well as collectible cents and half dollars. In addition, the US Mint has further plans for special numismatic coins and medals in 2026 that will feature unique designs and enhancements to mark the occasion. Many of these coins will also feature the dual dates of “1776” and “2026,” reminiscent of the one-time changes made for the United States Bicentennial 50 years ago.

The NGC America250™ certification label will be available for each of these coveted releases and more. Additional NGC America250™ designs will be made available exclusively through select retailers.

Official NGC America250™ label submission details

• All coins submitted must be graded.
• Available for any US Mint or US-themed coins submitted directly to the NGC Headquarters in the US. (Note: The NGC America250™ label is not available for submissions made to an NGC location outside of the US.)
• Submitters must select Label #2830 for the standard NGC America250™ label and Label #2831 for the oversized NGC America250™ label.
• Each NGC America250™ label is an additional $8 per label.
• Early Releases and First Releases designations are available for an additional $18 per label.
• If you would like Mint packaging returned, select the “Return Mint Packaging” option on the NGC Submission Form. The fee is $5, plus the cost of shipping.

Bulk submissions

NGC’s First Day of Issue designation is available for select bulk submissions only. To qualify for First Day of Issue, coins must be purchased within one day of the first day that a mint makes a new coin issue available and must be received by NGC or an NGC-approved depository within one week of the release date. NGC requires that the submitter provide adequate evidence (including purchase receipts) to demonstrate the date when the coins were purchased.
