NGC Offers Special Labels and Designations for 2025 Chinese Silver Dragons Available at the HKCS

Posted on 10/9/2025

Collectors and dealers can submit coins for NGC grading, including the 2025 Chinese Silver Dragons, at the Hong Kong Coin Show (HKCS) in October. The special coins are being sold at the 13th annual Hong Kong Coin Show.

Numismatic Guaranty Company® (NGC®) is accepting coin submissions for its certification services, including the highly anticipated 2025 Chinese Silver Dragons, at the Hong Kong Coin Show (HKCS) from October 10 to 12, 2025.

A total of 15,000 Silver Dragon coins (5,000 per day) are expected to be available for sale at the HKCS, and NGC has special labels and designations available for submitters of these coins. These coins purchased at the HKCS must be submitted to NGC along with the receipt to be eligible for the special labels and designations. All coins submitted to NGC at the HKCS will be sent to NGC’s headquarters in Sarasota, Florida for authentication, grading and encapsulation.

For the Silver Dragons being released at the show, NGC is offering two special show-related designations:

  • the First Day - Oct HKCS designation, for coins purchased and submitted at the NGC booth on the first day of the show
  • the Oct HKCS - Show Releases designation, for coins purchased and submitted at the NGC booth on any day during the show

NGC is also offering the custom HKCS Dragon label for these coins at no additional label fee. It will be the default label for coins with the Oct HKCS - Show Releases designation, and it will be a free label option for coins with the First Day - Oct HKCS designation.

The coin's obverse shows a depiction of a dragon, a symbol of Chinese culture as well as power, strength and good fortune, complemented by an auspicious cloud pattern. The reverse of the coin shows the Great Wall, a well-known representation of China's storied history that has fascinated the world for countless generations. The 2025 Silver Dragons are the first silver coin from China in nearly a decade to weigh 1 troy ounce, which gives them greater appeal to collectors and investors around the world.

Submission instructions:

  • Submit coins under an eligible NGC grading tier.
  • Indicate your desired label, attribution and/or Releases designation on the submission form. If no special label or Releases designation is indicated, the coin will receive the standard label and description without a Releases designation.
  • Coins must be submitted in their original packaging and with proof of purchase to show their eligibility for the requested designations, if appliable. If you want the packaging returned, select that option on the submission form.
