NGC Special Labels and Designations for the 250th Anniversary US Army American Eagle One Ounce Silver Proof Coin

The US Mint began sales in June for the 250th Anniversary of the US Army Proof Silver Eagle, which has a special privy mark showcasing the seal of the US Army, with shipping expected to begin on July 29, 2025. To accompany the certified coins, Numismatic Guaranty Company® (NGC®) is offering a variety of special labels, including the Military - 250th Anniversary label, West Point Mint Gold Star label and the popular NGC Early Releases and First Releases labels.

The 250th Anniversary of the US Army Proof Silver Eagles were struck at the US Mint at West Point, New York, with a special privy mark that honors the US Army milestone, which celebrated its birthday on June 14, 2025. Officially established on June 14, 1774 — more than two years before the Declaration of Independence — the US Army has been vital to the growth and development of the United States. As our nation proudly celebrates 250 years of service and valor, the US Mint pays tribute to the military branch's heroic legacy through these special coins.

The obverse features Adolph A. Weinman’s Walking Liberty. With advancements in technology, the Silver Eagles’ design more closely resembles Weinman’s original vision and includes his artist mark.

The reverse shows an eagle coming in for a landing, an exciting design that was first introduced in 2021. It was engraved by acclaimed medallic artist Michael Gaudioso, who signs certification labels exclusively for NGC. 2025-W Uncirculated Silver Eagles certified with the NGC Michael Gaudioso Signature Label will be available through select retailers.

Bulk submissions

NGC’s First Day of Issue designation and labels are available for select bulk submissions only. To qualify for First Day of Issue, coins must be purchased within one day of the first day that a mint makes a new coin issue available and must be received by NGC or an NGC-approved depository within one week of the release date. NGC will require that the submitter provide adequate evidence (including purchase receipts) to demonstrate the date when the coins were purchased.
