Numismatists who follow the modern coin series enjoy white coins. Those coins exhibiting distracting unattractive toning such as this proof 1953 Half Dollar are often seen as something less than a similar coin without such small amounts of unappealing color.
Evaluation determined that this color could be removed and would be a benefit to this coin. Careful conservation revealed a bright beautiful coin. This coin was able to numerically grade with NGC following the conservation work.
