Tied for the top sale of 2024 was a China 1992 1 Kilogram Gold 2,000 Yuan - Compass with Serial Number 08 graded NGC PF 69 Ultra Cameo, which realized $816,000 on June 19, 2024. This coin was among the earliest kilogram gold coins struck anywhere, which are highly sought by collectors of Chinese numismatics. From a mintage of just 10, this coin celebrated the invention of the compass.

Sharing the top spot of 2024 was a China 1992 Gold 2,000 Yuan - Seismograph with Serial Number 008 graded NGC PF 68 Ultra Cameo, which also realized $816,000 on June 19, 2024. This particular coin's serial number of 8 is considered lucky in China because it sounds similar to the Chinese word for fortune.

The third-highest price realized through Heritage for an NGC-certified Chinese coin in 2024 also came from the June 19 sale: a China 1993 Gold 1,500 Yuan - Guanyin graded NGC PF 69 Ultra Cameo, which realized $432,000. Featuring the revered Buddhist bodhisattva of compassion, Guanyin, this highly sought-after collectible showcases intricate artwork reflecting traditional Chinese craftsmanship and spiritual symbolism. With a limited mintage, it holds significant numismatic and cultural value, appealing to both collectors and investors.

• a China 1910 Silver Dollar graded NGC MS 65, which realized $156,000 on December 8, 2024
• a China 1996 2,000 Yuan - Year of the Rat graded NGC PF 67 Ultra Cameo, which realized $137,000 on December 8, 2024
• a China 1982 Brass Pattern Gold 100 Yuan Panda - Great Wall graded NGC PF 69 Ultra Cameo, which realized $102,000 on June 19, 2024
