Antium Aurum Offers NGC-graded Rarities from Central Europe

A beautiful and seldom-seen Hungarian Taler is among more than 250 coins in the sale.

More than 250 world coins certified by Numismatic Guaranty Company® (NGC®) are being offered in an upcoming Antium Aurum sale that is focused on rarities from Central Europe. Bidding is already underway for the Antium Aurum Auction XX, which is scheduled for May 17, 2024.

A top highlight of the auction is a Hungary 1790A Taler graded NGC MS 65 (lot 156), with a starting price of €15,000 (about $16,000). Only six are listed in the NGC Census, and none has a numerical grade higher than this example.

Other NGC-certified highlights in the auction include:

  • a Hungary 1867A Buda Gold Elizabeth Coronation Medal graded NGC MS 60 PL (lot 386), with a starting price of €25,000 (about $27,000)

  • a Bohemia 1633 Prague 2 Ducat graded NGC MS 62 (lot 42), with a starting price of €15,000 (about $16,000)
  • a Hungary 1792A Taler graded NGC MS 63 (lot 184), with a starting price of €15,000 (about $16,000)
  • an Austria 1887 Kuttenberg Mines 2 Florin graded NGC PF 64 Cameo (lot 292), with a starting price of €15,000 (about $16,000)
  • a Bohemia 1629 Friedland Taler graded NGC MS 61 (lot 418), with a starting price of €10,000 (about $11,000)
  • a Bohemia 1613 Prague Ducat graded NGC MS 65 (lot 32), with a starting price of €10,000 (about $11,000)
  • a Hungary 1637KB Ducat graded NGC MS 66 (lot 44), with a starting price of €10,000 (about $11,000)
  • a Hungary 1640KB Ducat graded NGC MS 67 (lot 54), with a starting price of €10,000 (about $11,000)
