NGC-graded 'Una and the Lion' in Latest Goldberg Sale Featuring the Peh Family Collection

Posted on 5/10/2024

An example of the renowned British coin is expected to lead the way in the sale of the second part of the collection, being held in early June.

One of Great Britain's most prestigious coins is among the rarities certified by Numismatic Guaranty Company® (NGC®) that are being offered by Ira & Larry Goldberg Coins & Collectibles in an upcoming auction. Online bidding is underway for the sale, which represents Part II of the Peh Family Collection and is being held on June 4, 2024.

At center stage in this sale is a Great Britain 1839 Una and the Lion 5 Sovereign graded NGC PF 62 Ultra Cameo (lot 1173). These gold coins celebrating the young Queen Victoria are extremely popular with collectors because of their beautiful design, which includes a magnificent scene on the reverse with her guiding a lion representing England. The coin is almost certain to soar past its minimum estimate of $100,000.
