NGC-certified Una and the Lion Offered in St. James's Auction

An example of one of Great Britain's premier coins is among the rarities graded by Numismatic Guaranty Company® (NGC®) in an upcoming sale. Bidding is already underway for St. James's Auctions - Auction 82 on November 8, 2023.

The top lot in the auction is a Great Britain 1839 Una and the Lion 5 Sovereign graded NGC PF 61 Ultra Cameo (lot 21), with an estimate of £200,000 to £250,000 (about $243,000 to $304,000). Widely regarded as the most beautiful coin in British numismatics, the obverse of the iconic Una and the Lion coin features the bust of a young Queen Victoria. The reverse depicts the young queen guiding a lion as Lady Una from the epic poem "The Faerie Queene."
