NGC-certified Chinese Rarities Among Highlights in Monetarium Sale

Dozens of coins certified by Numismatic Guaranty Company® (NGC®) are being offered in a Monetarium sale. Bidding is already underway for Monetarium Auction 34, which concludes with sessions held August 5-6, 2023.
Among the highlights in the sale are vintage and modern rarities from China and elsewhere in Asia. They include a China (1911) Silver Dollar - No Period, Extra Flame graded NGC MS 62 (lot 1072) with an estimate of SGD24,000 to SGD26,000 (about $18,100 to $19,600). Another top coin in the auction is a China 1984 Gold 150 Yuan Year of the Rat graded NGC PF 65 Ultra Cameo (lot 1121) with an estimate of SGD8,000 to SGD10,000 (about $6,000 to $7,500).
Other NGC-certified highlights in the auction include:
- a group of five Singapore 2001SM Gold Lunar Snake coins (1, 5, 10, 20 and 50 Dollars) graded NGC PF 69 Ultra Cameo to NGC PF 70 Ultra Cameo (lot 2010) with an estimate of SGD12,000 to SGD15,000 (about $9,000 to $11,300)
- a group of three Malaysia 1976 Conservation coins (Gold 500 Ringgits - Malaysian Tapir; Silver 25 Ringgits - Rhinoceros Hornbill; and Silver 15 Ringgits - Malaysian Gaur) graded NGC PF 67 Ultra Cameo to NGC PF 68 Ultra Cameo (lot 2011) with an estimate of SGD12,000 to SGD15,000 (about $9,000 to $11,300)
- a Straits Settlements 1920 Silver 5 Cents graded NGC AU 55 (lot 1031) with an estimate of SGD8,000 to SGD12,000 (about $6,000 to $9,000)
- a Malaysia 1988 20 Sen with Reverse Die Cap graded NGC Mint Error MS 68 (lot 2015) with an estimate of SGD3,000 to SGD3,600 (about $2,300 to $2,700)
- a group of three Thailand BE2543//2000 Silver 50 Baht Year of the Dragon coins (including one Gilt and one With Pearl Hologram) graded NGC PF 68 Ultra Cameo to NGC PF 69 Ultra Cameo (lot 1004) with an estimate of SGD2,400 to SGD3,000 (about $1,800 to $2,300)
- a Vietnam (1841-47) Annam 2 Tien graded NGC XF Details (lot 1005) with an estimate of SGD2,000 to SGD3,000 (about $1,500 to $2,300)
- a China (1908) Chihli Silver Dollar graded NGC MS 61 (lot 1068) with an estimate of SGD2,000 to SGD3,000 (about $1,500 to $2,300)
