Special NGC Designation for King Charles III's Coronation

Numismatic Guaranty Company® (NGC®) is offering a special designation for coins featuring King Charles III to celebrate the coronation of the monarch of the United Kingdom. Charles acceded the throne on September 8, 2022 following the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II. On May 6, 2023, he and his wife, Camilla, took part in the historic coronation ceremony, as he was anointed and crowned.

Coins featuring Charles III that are received by NGC’s Florida headquarters between May 1 and May 31, 2023 are eligible for a special designation of Coronation Releases. Coins with the Coronation Releases designation will be listed separately in the NGC Census.

Last year, the United Kingdom celebrated Queen Elizabeth's 70-year reign at her Platinum Jubilee, which is the longest anyone has held the throne in English history. Upon her passing, her eldest son, Charles, became the King of the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth. New coins have already been released that feature the portrait of King Charles III. Now, collectors have the opportunity to mark the historic coronation with NGC's special designation and labels.

Submission Instructions

• The Coronation Releases designation is available for bulk submissions only. Contact Scott Heller at 941-360-3990 or SHeller@collectiblesgroup.com for more information on pricing and submission instructions.
• To request the special Coronation Releases designation, you must write Coronation Releases on your submission form.
• Submissions must arrive between May 1, 2023 and May 31, 2023. Submissions received after May 31, 2023 will not be eligible for the Coronation Releases designation.
• Early Releases, First Releases and First Day of Issue designations are not available in conjunction with the Coronation Releases designation.
