Rare NGC-certified Chinese Coin Stars in Spink Sale

A Chinese rarity is among nearly 200 collectible coins certified by Numismatic Guaranty Company® (NGC®) in an upcoming Spink auction being held April 11-12, 2023. Bidding is already underway for Spink’s CSS92A and CSS92B auctions, which are focused on Chinese coins and banknotes.
A highlight of the auction is a China 1906 Restrike 2 Mace graded NGC MS 65 and pedigreed to the D&C Capital Collection (CSS92B, lot 1344). This particular coin was never issued, so survivors are rare, even those that were struck at a later date from the original dies, such as this one. This coin has an estimate of HKD 550,000 to HKD 650,000 (about $71,000 to 83,000).

- a China 1916 Hung Hsien Silver Dollar graded NGC MS 61 (CSS92B, lot 1460) with an estimate of HKD 250,000 to HKD 400,000 (about $32,000 to $51,000)
- a China 1992 1 Kilo Completion of Lunar Cycle Silver 200 Yuan - 8 Water Lines graded NGC PF 68 Ultra Cameo (CSS92B, lot 1564) with an estimate of HKD 210,000 to HKD 280,000 (about $27,000 to $37,000)
- a China 1999 1 Kilo Completion of Lunar Cycle Silver 200 Yuan graded NGC PF 69 Ultra Cameo (CSS92B, lot 1580) with an estimate of HKD 120,000 to HKD 180,000 (about $15,000 to $23,000)
- a China 1989 12-ounce Lunar Series Snake Silver 100 Yuan graded NGC PF 68 Ultra Cameo (CSS92B, lot 1560) with an estimate of HKD 80,000 to HKD 120,000 (about $10,000 to $15,000)
- a Yemen AH1379 (1960) Gold Half Riyal graded NGC MS 65 (CSS92A, lot 117) with an estimate of HKD 60,000 to HKD 80,000 (about $7,600 to $10,000)
- a Portuguese India 1795 Goa 12 Xerafins graded NGC MS 63 (CSS92A, lot 57) with an estimate of HKD 25,000 to HKD 35,000 (about $3,000 to $4,000)
- a Hong Kong 1998 Copper-Nickel $10 graded NGC AU 58 (CSS92A, lot 184) with an estimate of HKD 18,000 to HKD 30,000 (about $2,000 to $4,000)
