Vintage Italian Coin Certified by NGC Realizes $292,000

One of the greatest rarities in Italian numismatics, which is certified by Numismatic Guaranty Company™ (NGC®), was sold for over a quarter-million dollars in Aste Bolaffi Auction 42 on December 2, 2022.
The top lot in this auction was an Italy 1928R VI Gold “Oro Prova” 20 Lire graded NGC MS 61 (lot 1225), which sold for € 274,500 (about $292,000). Showing King Victor Emmanuel III in uniform, only 15 of these gold coins are believed to have been struck to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the end of World War I.
