The December auction features dozens of Polish and German coins from the 1600s and onward.

Dozens of NGC-certified coins from Central Europe are being offered in a sale presented by Antykwariat Numizmatyczny Michal Niemczyk, a trusted auction house in Poland. Online bidding is already underway for the Christmas Auction 37 (including Session I and Session II), which is set to end on December 13, 2022.

The top NGC-certified coin in the sale is a Germany 1698 ILH Saxony 5 Ducat graded NGC UNC Details (Session I, lot 779). The coin’s obverse features Augustus II of the House of Wettin, the King of Poland from 1697 to 1706, then again from 1709 to 1733. Multi-ducat coins from the period of the Wettins’ reign are incredibly rare. This coin has a starting price of 90,000 PLN (about $20,200).
