NGC-certified Coins Lead September Sale

A rarity form the Republic of Genoa is among 500 coins certified by Numismatic Guaranty Company™ (NGC®) that are being showcased in the latest sale presented by Asta Aurora San Marino. Online bidding for Auction 27 is underway, with the sale concluding on September 29, 2022.
The top lot of the sale is a beautiful Italy 1642 CS Genoa 5 Doppie graded NGC MS 66. This particular coin is the higher graded of the two examples recorded in the NGC Census. The Republic of Genoa, based in northern Italy, was a powerhouse in the banking world when this coin was issued. This rarity (lot 89) has a starting price of €100,000 (about $100,000).
The sale also features an Italy (1450-71) Ferrara Ducat graded NGC AU 53 (lot 11), one of only a handful of such coins known to exist today. The coin features Borso d’Este, Duke of Ferrara from 1450 to 1471. This stunning coin has a starting price of €40,000 (about $40,000)

- an Italy 1864T BN 100 Lire graded NGC AU 58 (lot 320), which has a starting price of €20,000 (about $20,000)
- an Italy 1883R 100 Lire graded NGC MS 63 PL (lot 336), which has a starting price of €20,000 (about $20,000)
- an Italy (1505-34) Ferrara 10 Soldi graded NGC AU 55 (lot 24), which has a starting price of €12,000 (about $12,000)
- an Italy 1596 Ferrara Teston graded NGC AU 55 (lot 37), which has a starting price of €12,000 (about $12,000)
- an Italy 1713 FMS Genoa 4 Scudi graded NGC AU 53 (lot 93), which has a starting price of €12,000 (about $12,000)
- an Egypt AH1277//8 500 Qirsh graded NGC MS 61 (lot 653), which has a starting price of €12,000 (about $12,000)
- an Italy 1925R 100 Lire Silver Jubilee graded NGC PF 64 Matte (lot 363), which has a starting price of €9,000 (about $9,000)
