NGC-certified Polish Taler Showcased in September Sale

A rare Polish taler certified by Numismatic Guaranty Company™ (NGC®) is a top highlight in an upcoming sale presented by Poland-based auction house Antykwariat Numizmatyczny Niemczyk Michal. Also offered in the sale are hundreds of NGC-certified coins from across the European continent. Online bidding for Auction 35 is currently underway and will conclude on September 16, 2022.
A Poland 1576 Courland Taler graded NGC XF 45 (lot 97) is one of the top highlights in the sale, with a starting price of 100,000 PLN (about $21,300). Dated from the Middle Ages, this coin was struck in Courland seven years after the vassal state became part of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. The reverse features the coat of arms of Gotthard Kettler, the first Duke of Courland and Semigallia during that period.

- a Poland 1659 HDL Thorn Ducat graded NGC MS 61 (lot 186), with a starting price of 55,000 PLN (about $11,700)
- a Poland 1673 DL Danzig Ducat graded NGC MS 61 (lot 198), with a starting price of 50,000 PLN (about $10,500)
- a Poland (circa 1708-10) Half Taler Butterfly Type graded NGC MS 62 (lot 206), with a starting price of 50,000 PLN (about $10,500)
- a Poland 1783 EB Taler graded NGC MS 62 (lot 226), with a starting price of 38,000 PLN (about $8,000)
- a Germany 1631 CVD Breslau 2 Taler Klippe graded NGC AU 55 (lot 262), with a starting price of 35,000 PLN (about $7,400)
- a Russia 1724 2 Rouble graded NGC AU 55 (lot 310), with a starting price of 20,000 PLN (about $4,200)
- a Germany (circa 1657) Cologne Taler graded NGC AU 58 (lot 383), with a starting price of 20,000 PLN (about $4,200)
- a Poland 1628 II Taler graded NGC MS 62 and pedigreed to the Richard A. Jourdan Collection (lot 108), with a starting price of 18,000 PLN (about $3,800)
- a Poland 1995MW Gold 200 Zlotych Chopin Piano Competition graded NGC PF 69 Ultra Cameo (lot 570), with a starting price of 17,000 PLN (about $3,600)
