NGC-certified Ancient Greek Coin May Sell for Six Figures in Heritage Sale

Over 500 ancient coins certified by Numismatic Guaranty Company™ (NGC®) are being offered in an upcoming Heritage Auctions sale. Online bidding is currently underway in the Central States World Coins & Ancient Coins Platinum Session and Signature Auction, which concludes May 7, 2022.
The top NGC-graded offering is a Calabria, Taras c. 280-272 BC Gold Stater graded NGC Ancients MS, 5/5 Strike, 4/5 Surface with Fine Style (lot 30001), with an estimate of $80,000 to $120,000. Struck during the time of Pyrrhus of Epirus, a Greek king and a cousin of Alexander the Great, the coin’s obverse depicts Heracles, a divine hero in Greek mythology.
