First struck in 1986, the Gold Eagle coin program is one of the world's most popular gold coin programs. The coins are available in 1/10oz, 1/4oz, 1/2oz, and 1oz sizes, with face values of $5, $10, $25, and $50, respectively.
The burnished eagle coins are struck at the West Point Mint on specially prepared blanks and sport a W mint mark. This issue sold about 15% less than the prior year. However, quality was still outstanding, with nearly 70% obtaining the grade of MS70. (6/2016)
