Just a single die pair was used to produce this small mintage, the reverse die surviving to produce all of Carson City's dime coinage through 1874. This issue is rare in all grades, with Mint State examples numbering about half a dozen.
Most 1871 CC dimes are well worn and display one of more problems, such as damage or corrosion. These pieces will not appear within NGC's Census Report.
