Description & Analysis

The estimate of surviving proof 1845 quarter dollars is half a dozen, though not all are traceable at any given time. More than this number have been certified, but these may include duplicate submissions of the same coins.

Not surprisingly, there is but a single pair of dies known for proof strikings. The obverse features a date that was repunched east of the first impression.
