Description & Analysis

While one of the more commonly encountered dates in the Classic series of half eagles, the 1835 is certainly not a common date in mint condition. In fact, the same statement can be made for all dates of this type in MS 60 or better. For some reason, despite much larger mintages than half eagles from previous decades, Classic fives are only marginally more available in uncirculated condition.
