Description & Analysis

1908(P) quarter dollars are plentiful across all grades through MS 64, with gems being surprisingly scarce. Most of this issue was well struck.

The year 1908 produced a bumper crop of repunched and misplaced dates for all United States silver and minor coins. In fact, this phenomenon was so common that the Mint effected a permanent solution to such varieties for 1909. The 1908(P) quarter is known with several of both variety classes, though these are rather minor.
