Description & Analysis

Despite the ongoing economic depression during 1895, the mintage of quarter dollars from the Philadelphia Mint actually rose from that of the previous year. This issue is common in well worn condition, but XF and AU examples are scarce and highly sought by collectors. Mint State survivors are reasonably plentiful, though few grade higher than MS 64.

A couple of minor repunched dates are noted for 1895(P), but these have attracted little interest.
