Description & Analysis

This issue enjoyed the third highest mintage of the Barber Dime series and is common in all grades through MS 65. A sharp strike and good luster is typical for most Mint State survivors.

As one might expect, the large number of dies required for nearly 20 million dimes resulted in numerous varieties. Indeed, there are several each of misplaced date and repunched date varieties. Most are quite minor, but the better ones are likely to be attributed by NGC if and when they are submitted for VarietyPlus Service.
