1921 Peace dollar crossover from MS to PF

2 posts in this topic

I have a 1921 Peace dollar graded by PCGS as MS64 however it has every diagnostic of a satin proof including totally full strike, sharp rims, unbroken luster, polish lines, etc.

Can I specify the minimum crossover grade to be PF 64?   Also regarding conservation, will the proof determination be made BEFORE the coin is cracked out and conserved?

Thank you for your attention!

Thank you for your email. When submitting a crossover you can request it to be cross at the same exact grade or a lower grade. As the coin is graded MS64 you can only request it to be crossed at MS64 and not PF64. If the graders determine the coin to be PF and MS they will assign the proper designation. If you feel that this coin was attributed incorrectly by PCGS please notate that on the form as well. Please see the attached link for more information.
