NGC coin prices

4 posts in this topic

NGC only grades and authenticates coins. The marketplace ultimately determines coin values.

There already are a number of useful pricing mechanisms in the marketplace for the two major grading services. While NGC is responsive to its customers, we've elected not to publish a price guide at this time.

I would consider this the absolute worst idea for the consumers. A company cannot be trusted to impartially make the coins (i.e., grade) as well as price those coins it makes.

Not when it does so supposedly on behalf of the industry.

That another company does exactly that, as well as selling its coins, does not make it right.

There is no safeguard; there is no mechanism to validate either the grading or the pricing. Mostly, there is no way to guarantee impartiality.
