Scratched Planchet Before Striking

Ive come across a nickel that has a scratch underneath the date. You could clearly see the date is stamped over the scratch. Which means the planchet was scratched before it was struck. My question, is this considered a mint error? Has anyone seen it before? Would it be worth getting graded?

Please supply a picture. Hard to say what it is without seeing it. We don’t even know the denomination.

Doen't appear to be a scratch.  might be a lamination (pre-strike). second possibility it some tipe or mark or grease which then wore off the high points in circulation but is still present in the protected areas.
