JIM F.
Recently purchased from Stacks auction as PCGS PF-63. Just found out it was previously in a NGC MS-64 holder. Clearly identified by the marks at end of nose and in left obverse field. Totally different values. What should I do?
Administrator LISA B Posted August 19, 2020 Administrator Share Posted August 19, 2020 Dear Jim, Thank you. You could send this to us as a Crossover. If it grades the same or higher, we will crack it out of the PCGS holder and put it into ours. There is no guarantee that this will grade the same as before as once it's been removed from our holder, the grade is then null and void. Thank you, Lisa
Just Bob
Since NGC considered it a business strike, and PCGS considered it a proof, would it revert back to being labelled as a business strike if crossed back? It is a shame it lost the Reiver pedigree. Crruisercharlie
JIM F.
What would be insightful is what did Jules Reiver consider the coin? The HA auction lists some previous sales, but unless one can refer to the sales catalogs from those sales, it is unknown what grade was assigned by previous owners.
