So I thought they didn’t make proof half shillings in 1829, is this just a very early strike? It’s definitely proof like.

This is a counterfeit. The overall look is just incorrect, and the hair detail is laughable in comparison to a genuine example. If you can, I would request a refund.

I would be willing to bet these are on eBay. There are a few sellers out of Russia that have hundreds of counterfeits listed.

@Just Bob I didn’t have a chance to hunt down the main culprit but here are two sellers from Albania who seem to specialize in counterfeit world coins. The usernames are followed by an item number to make it easier for you to find them.
