Newly discovered errors

I just came across a 1964 Jefferson Nickel, after putting it under the scope I found what appears to be doubling on the reverse. Mostly on" United States" and slight doubling on "monticello". I looked in varieties for 64 Jefferson's, could not find this. Is there actual doubling here or is this wear? Or is this indeed a newly discovered variety of error ?

Those coins don't display mint errors or varieties, just poor quality control at the mint during the coin shortage years. It's a combination of die erosion and strike doubling.

Even if it is an ugly coin, wouldn't it be worth more than face value?

Only worth 5 cents.

There is no premium for strike doubling or machine doubling as it is sometimes called as it is not an error or a variety.
