Hi I have a question about this peace dollar. Is this natural or artificial toning? And what is the main identifier to tell the difference? Thanks for the help

That looks to me to be NT. It appears that part of it was covered during the time it was exposed to whatever caused the toning.

I find that AT has more of a rainbow effect  (like oil on water)  with definite breaks between the colours, whereas NT colours seam to blend in., but on some coins it is nearly impossible to tell the difference.

The main factor is if the coin is market acceptable vs non market acceptable.

Thanks Greenstang. I was going to get it encapsulated for a keeper coin. I just didn't want to pay for a details grade.
