Hey guys, I just joined this site after finding something I’ve never seen before from a vending machine. It’s a dime that appears mostly copper. What’s the deal with these? Picture doesn’t really do the color justice.

We see many of these on the forum.

As thisistheshow stated, just some form of environmental damage that has discoloured the coin. Sometimes you can rub it off.

Hello and Welcome!

Sadly, I agree with the others......it's environmental damage.  This kind of discoloration is fairly common on nickels and clad coins.  It's only worth face value.

Better luck next time!
