Thank you for your question. When submitting a coin for reholder it will receive a new label, inner core and scratch-resistant holder.

Hello

I bought a coin from a reputable auction house. The coin was NGC labeled. Once received the coin I noticed that the holder looked as though it had been tampered with. I returned the coin to the auction house and indicated my displeasure with the holder. They said that they sending the coin back to NGC for re-holder. I got the coin back a couple of days ago with the new NGC holder that seems to be legit. How can I show this coin to an NGC rep to make sure it is the same quality coin that I bought in the auction??

Thanks,

Thank you for your post. The NGC holders are sealed in a way that makes it impossible to tamper with the coin. If someone attempts to swap out a coin in an NGC holder, the outer casing will crack and splinter. I would first use the resource below to ensure that the coin data and image matches the physical coin in hand. If you still have doubts please send clear pictures of the coin and holder to service@ngccoin.com for more information.

I have a 5 oz Apollo 11 50th Anniversary coin with a label signed by Charlie Duke. The holder is scratched and I'd like to have it reholdered, and I want to keep the label. I didn't see this issue addressed in the forum, but I don't want a new label. Can I keep my label and core?
