Washington Quarter

Well I hope someone else chimes in on this for your benefit, because to me this looks like a cast copy. Why someone would copy a 1983 Qtr is beyond my imagination.

Don't mock me too much, but for a bit of time I collected the 1983 P washington quarters.  I bought all the MS66 I could find when i had money to spare.  I got up to only 9 before I realized I was a loser and shouldn't put my money here.  Started selling them one at a time on ebay and I have one listed currently.  The 1983P is part of the NGC top 100 modern set which in part is why I started collecting them.

Not sure why 83-P quarters are valued higher but millions were struck from worn die pairs. More than a billion coins were struck from both mints and not enough dies were produced to strike great coins. Just imagine how many die pair would be needed to strike that many coins !
