1882 Morgan Silver Dollar O Over S, Opinions Please

2 posts in this topic

My great grandpa kept this along with his other collection in a safety deposit box most of his life and it's been kept in a safe since it was passed down threw the generations. My son is enrolling in college next year. I dont know much about coins at all so your help would be greatly appreciated. I figured I would find out if it's worth getting graded and your thoughts on the grade, value, and which grading company to use? Let me know if you need more pictures of different angles or close ups.

It sure looks like the 1882 O/S. I'll let the experts be the judge on exactly which variety it is.

The coin grades AU. It appears to be original, and fairly attractive (please don't clean it!).

However, it is really only worth $75 - $100. It is not worth getting graded.
