Eye appeal premiums

Superior eye appeal on rare coins will bring strong money. Superior eye appeal on very common coins is "expected". Common coins are often treated harshly in this regard.

There are huge quantities of common coins without superior eye-appeal or with negative eye-appeal.

The coins in this thread look nice, but there isn't much of a value spread between them and higher grade examples. That is what will likely cap their price premiums at very modest levels.

Both look like nice 64 coins to me also. Eye appeal is in the eyes of the beholder. Toning, extra clean fields, blast white, etc... can be someone's example of thier eye appeal. It's what someone will pay a premium for, that matches thier appeal.

Some buy for the crack-out game. Take that green label for instance. There are those that believe that the OGH's can up-grade and sometimes do, one whole point or a whole point plus a * or + to boot! So their eye appeal is the cotton pickin label, so socket to'em!

Those are both solid 64s.

The price spread for a 64 to a 65 is modest, so you may get a little extra for the old holders and the PQ appeal but it won't be anything dramatic.
