Post your pre-33 PL gold

PL adds a lot in terms of demand, the coins sell themselves. PCGS does not offer the PL designation on gold at this point, so those coins need to go to NGC, as generally Anacs and ICG PL gold will be regarded as "raw" by the big boys.

PCGS has PL on new gold coins and old silver. Not sure about old gold. Weird they wouldn't do that for that type only.

I selected this coin based on the minimal contact marks for the grade, and watery deep mirrored fields (especially for Gold) while examining it during the pre-auction viewing.

Both the preservation state and depth of mirrored fields compared favorably with two other higher grade PL's of the same date included in the same auction.

Heritage's following auction description is accurate: "This radiant, sun-gold example is strongly prooflike and displays a razor-sharp strike. Minimal abrasions exist for the Select Uncirculated level, with only wispy field chatter that doesn't detract at all from the overall mirrored appeal."

Thanks to Charmy (aka ThePennyLady) for taking the following iPhone photo of the subject coin that depicts the mirrored fields and cameo devices. :)

The mirrored fields are not readily discernable from the following Heritage Auction photos.

The following NGC Certification Verification Photos better depict the reflective prooflike fields of this coin than the above Heritage auction photos.
