7 posts in this topic

This is my new purchase.

It is the first type of samples by PCGS and it is the proof Roosevelt dime.

Sample Slabs by Cameron Kiefer list it as a Type 1.1, and

The new Sample Slabs Book By David Schwager which list it with a catalog number of PCGS-010-1-2

I had one of those last year. Since I don't really collect them I put it up on E-Bay. The first go around it failed to sell. The second time around it sold for $145 as I recall.

There is a listing of all the sample slabs made by one of the regulars here (conder101). Yours is the rarest of the PCGS slabs.

Congrats.

Thanks

I have not seen many of these as you are right the proof dime is rare, but I think in the PCGS line up samples some are rarer,

The proof is actually rarer than it's BU brothers. I'm told that PCGS passed these out to Dealers at just 1 or 2 shows until they ran out. David Hall weighed in at some point and recalled that memory. He couldn't remember how many were gifted.

Thanks for adding David Halls comment on them I did not know that,

As far as how many?

They just don't come up on eBay for sale very often.

The all zeros rattler type 1, I have seen many in comparison.
