synoptic12 188 posts Report post Posted September 27, 2016 (edited) Almost a full rim, extremely nice. A question, what is the anomaly with the tip of the nose (angled line), never seen that aspect? Edited September 27, 2016 by synoptic12
robec1347 4,744 posts Report post Posted September 27, 2016 Almost a full rim, extremely nice. A question, what is the anomaly with the tip of the nose (angled line), never seen that aspect? It looks like a slice was taken. Not sure what may have caused it. It may have a full rim. This was shot through the PCGS slab and the gasket is covering part of the rim. Would you have any inclination with separating the coin from yourself ? You can PM me if you wish.

synoptic12 188 posts Report post Posted October 7, 2016 (edited) Toning never intrigued me but those coins have some nice rainbow effects. You know, I have quite a few specimens that I acquired in a roll. I believe they are about the same years, which is a mystery to me. (66, 67, 68) Also a few clipped planchets on a 63'. Mostly, I pay no mind to that variety any longer (Lincoln's). How is it that these effects seem to be prominent in these years, and how do they tone with those colors? A reply is appreciated.
