Removal of coins from a 2" * 2" lucite holder

3 posts in this topic

Hello,

I have a 10 Roosevelt 1963D uncirculated dimes that are in a 2" * 2" Lucite holder. This was a gift given to me many years ago by my grandmother. A couple of the Dimes have toned very nicely. Has NCS ever removed coins from this situation that were able to be submitted for grading ? I have read that freezing with liquid nitrogen and then cracking might be viable.

Any thoughts?

Best Regards,

Rich

We have had success in removing coins from lucite. The process is usually longer than the average conservation job.
